You need a WHY!
Why do you want to change your health? Lose weight? Get fitter and stronger? For that special occasion coming up? Often that just won’t cut it. I mean think about it, how long have you put up with not being happy with your body and health? For most people it’s years. And that’s because it’s uncomfortably comfortable. You’ve lived this way for so long that it’s unconsciously part of you, it’s comfortable. You may not be comfortable as you body screams in pain and your sleep is disrupted and your clothes are tight. BUT, the discomfort of pushing for change will often far out-way how uncomfortable you feel right now in your everyday life. In order to get change in our lives there must be time created for it, and a lot of effort and perseverance until around 90 days when we finally make it a habit.
95% of people will quit because it gets too hard and their reason or their ‘why’ is just not enough to pull them through those challenging days and weeks.
Our minds and bodies are extremely adaptable. They will fight change.
SO…. with this in mind, here’s your first task. You MUST get 100% clear on your deep reason WHY. Below are 4 questions. Get a journal or write this in a book/diary that you will look at everyday. This MUST be revisited everyday until you achieve exactly what you’ve written down. This is important. You must train your brain to adapt just like you’ll train your muscles to adapt. Your brain is a muscle after all. To change what you focus on you must revisit your goals daily and do the work.
Here’s our 3 W’s. These are our first essential steps to getting what you want.
Our What – When – Why. Write the answers in a special journal or diary.
What do you want? (in health, fitness, body, mind, lifestyle). Get specific and write away.
2) When do you want to achieve this/these goals? Put dates beside them all. Again get specific. Tip: The shorter the time frame, the more time and effort you will need to allocate. Choose a time frame that excites you but doesn’t stress you out.
3) Why do you want this/these goals?
4) What will change in your life if you achieve and then live this/these goals within the timeframes you noted down above? (Get excited and think about how it feels in yourself right now having these goal/s achieved, what’s changed)
Change takes consistent effort, you must allocate daily time in your pursuit. Eventually, that time becomes a new priority and it doesn’t feel like such a stretch, it’s just part of your day. Gaining accountability and learning from professionals like us also will cost you money. In this case, this program is free, however if you were to pursue further help and guidance you will be sacrificing money and time. If this doesn’t sit right with you and you’re not willing to put a financial and time investment into your health then that right there is your first problem. Your perception of what health and fitness is worth can’t be low. Your self worth can’t be so low that you won’t give time and money to improve you. This is exactly why we need to get really clear on your 3 W’s and they need to actually MEAN something to you.
It is now your job to revisit your answers above every day. Write them out everyday, get clearer as you go. You goals must be constantly brought to the front of your mind. Just like a muscle. Let’s focus on exactly what you want AND get excited about embodying it.
