This is the best photo I’ve ever seen! One of our most challenging jobs as health professionals is to get people (particually women) to not obsess over the number on the scales. It is so unfortunate that children are still brought up these days to think that the number on the scales determines whether they are getting fat or not!
Muscle and fat weigh the same but fat takes up much more room – as you can see in the picture below. We try to educate clients about this which is quite a task because we’re trying to break a lifetime habit for some. The way to determine change in the best way is by asking yourself how your feeling. If the exercise and clean eating is making you feel happier, healthier and more confident then it is working!! We only do measurements and BIA testing here which shows what’s really happening within.
For myself personally, when I start to build lean muscle I put on around 5-7kg but I’m much smaller.
The number on the scales means nothing, it’s how you feel that matters.
